Have you ever been in love with a book? We are, it´s called "Fool on the Hill" by Matt Ruff, and it is a beautiful story, a modern fairytale with humor, romance and more, and while ready it makes you smile and shiver.

I don´t want to discuss the story itself here, for such things please go to your favorite page about book reviews, because the story is really okay. But the book has one big flawn: its cover. We have never gave a particular book as often as a present like this one. And each time, we had to change the cover, because, well, dear publishers, it doesn´t work that way. Not with such a great story inside. www.picserch.com, Photoshop and a big amount of time, and the book gets another face. It has to be content related, for sure. We used the main characters, locations from the storyline, and so on in collages, which are representing in color and style the "feeling" of the story. Like a fairytale, like magic, like romance or simply cute. Glows (duplicated layers, which has been blurred and mixed with the setting screen (or just lower opacity values)) are creating a soft look, which seems to glow throughout magic.

Cutted out figures are representing various characters of the plot, e.g. Kalliope, the most beautiful girl in the world, Blackjack, a cat, the family of kobolds, which is living at the campus, the bohemians, and the man with the kite named S.T. George. It´s a collection of impressions, which can be looked at repeatly during reading the book itself.

And because of gifts should be unique, there are variations of those elements, for each bookcover one.

At the end, the covers have been simply printed out and glued on the back of the book itself.
